Croatian Society for Fuels and Lubricants, GOMA works continuously for 50 years as not-for-profit and nongovernmental society NGO. One of the most important activities of GOMA is organizing an international scientific symposium once a year, on fuels and/or on lubricants. Publishing of the journal Fuels and Lubricants is the second important continuous activity of the Society.
GOMA is a member of the Croatian Engineers Association (HIS)  

HIS is a member of the FEANI (the European Federation of National Engineering Associations).

The 49th GOMA Symposium – FUELS 2016held from 19 to 21 October 2016 in Šibenik, Croatia



The 49 th GOMA Symposium – FUELS 2016 has been successfully organized in Šibenik, Croatia from October 19th.- 21 st by the Croatian Society for Fuels and Lubricants. Symposium gathered 33 speakers and 25 posters prepared by 137 authors and 150 participants coming from 55 companies and 15 countries.

Symposium was opened by Ivana Lukec, president of the Organizing Board and Bruno Novina, president of GOMA.

In front of gold sponsor INA d.d., Davor Mayer, member of Management board of INA d.d. greeted the Symposium.

The contribution from the sponsors has been very precious and irreplaceable and with the most appreciation, GOMA would like to thank INA d.d. as the gold sponsor, BASF as the silver sponsor, all the bronze sponsors: CB&I, Ivicom, ROFA, Dorf Ketal and the exhibitors: Anton Paar and Metso.

This year's Symposium had a large number of interesting presentations and we thank all the authors for their contributions. Plenary lecture was presented by Heather Hamje from Concawe on the topic of "The Effect of Emission Reduction Scenarios on Compliance with the Ambient Air Quality Limit Values for EU27 Countries in Urban Environments".

Other interesting lectures were prepered by Adriana Petrović discussing the topic of Oil and Fossil Fuels Outlook: Policies, Reasoning and Reality and Ilona Vari with topic Update on EU Environmental Regulation for the Refining Sector. Other presented topics were alternative fuels, fuels quality, technological solutions, production efficiency improvement, catalyst development and process optimization.

A large number of posters was also presented at the Symposium. Authors put a lot of effort in preparing the posters and opening the discussion with the participants.

Working program was accompanied by the networking events where the participants had an opportunity to meet and discuss their experiences in more relaxing atmosphere.
